I agree that Suav Blanc is what NZ is known for . My personal favorite is Oyster Bay (15-20) but there is another great one Matua Valley Paratei which is realy good but very hard to find (30)

Hands down – New Zealand is known for making great Sauvignon Blanc. In fact, out of all of the white wines made in that country, their Sauvignon Blanc is probably the best. However, there are a couple of really great examples of Riesling coming from New Zealand now and then on the red wine side of things are the Pinot Noir's.

look up this site, it may help you decide…….it will also tell u if there are any events near you where you can go and try the stuff!!

Most widely available is the Cloudy Bay Sauvignon blanc and Pinot Noir

New Zealand is know for producing superior Sauvignon Blanc. One of the best is:

They dont technically put any alcohol into the wine. They let it ferment (rot cant think of a nicer way to say it). And as it ferments the sugars and some other chemicals break down and become alcohol. The amount of sugar they put into it also helps. The longer they let it ferment the stronger it is. I was watching TV last night and they said that prison inmates make wine with fruit and very sugary koolaid!

For more alcohol content, the grapes aren't pressed as early as low alcohol wine grapes. It all to do with the sugar content of the fruit.The grower of grapes for wine is called a vigneron, the person who sells it is a vintner.

Just ferment it for different ammounts of time. The longer it ferments the more alcoholic it will be, the less it ferments the less alcoholic it will be.
