I'm no expert but from an enthusiastic amateur's perspective three great sauvignon blancs are Oyster Bay, Wither Hills and Kim Crawford – all readily available and costing between $15-$20.

Kim Crawford 2006 Sauvignon Blanc
Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2006. Unfolds with flavors of passionfruit, gooseberry and subtle herbaceousness. The wine is mouthfilling with good texture and finishes well with cleansing acidity and great length. ($16.99)
